Local Programs

Community Access Program – Taxi Subsidy

The Community Access Program is a taxi subsidy program organized in partnership by the Town of Turner Valley and the Town of Black Diamond. Angel’s Taxi and Diamond Valley Taxi are the authorized taxi service providers for the program and offer subsidized fares to eligible residents.

Subsidized Housekeeping Program Pilot

Turner Valley and Black Diamond FCSS have initiated a subsidized housekeeping pilot project to serve low income seniors. Qualifying residents will be receive housekeeping at an hourly rate of $15.00. For more information on the program, please see the Subsidized Housekeeping Program Information Sheet.

To apply, book an appointment with the Black Diamond FCSS coordinator to determine eligibility for the subsidy and discuss needs by contacting the municipal office.

School Supply Program

The School Supply Program is an income-based program funded by regional FCSS partners, grants, donations and business partners to assist families in financial need with the cost of school supplies (payment of school fees is not covered).

Parents of students in kindergarten through grade 6 who attend school in Okotoks, DeWinton, Black Diamond or Turner Valley are eligible. To apply, please submit a completed School Supply Program Application Form to the Okotoks Family Resource Centre. Families must meet the income guidelines listed on the form to be eligible.
