Town of Turner Valley Council adopted its 2017-2020 Strategic Plan outlining its vision, goals and anticipated outcomes for the next 3 years.
2014-2016 Business Plan
The 2014-2016 Flood Recovery Business Plan addresses the immediate need to rebuild the community and guides municipal operations in the following ways:
- Ensuring that municipal infrastructure, transportation, and recreation facilities are rebuilt, and that improvement plans disrupted by the flood are continued;
- Revitalizing the municipal economy; and
- Initiating processes through proactive measures including statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure effective flood hazard prevention, mitigation and response strategies are in place.
Business Case for Next Generation Broadband
At the August 11, 2017 Special Meeting of Council, a motion was made to release, for public information, the report from Taylor Warwick Consulting Ltd regarding the potential for Turner Valley to deploy a fibre-optic network of broadband infrastructure to every home and business in town. At its September 18th meeting, Council passed the following motion related to broadband services in Turner Valley. A Telus announcement will be forthcoming.
Res. 17.09.18.12 Motion by Councillor Rishaug that Council authorizes administration to move forward on the broadband discussion by signing the MOU and the Small Cell Agreement with Telus. CARRIED
